Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites ten verses in a night will not be recorded among the heedless (al-ghafilin); whoever recites one hundred verses, the reward of a whole night of worship will be recorded for him; whoever recites two hundred verses will be counted among the devoutly obedient (al-qanitin); whoever recites four hundred verses will be counted among the worshippers (al-'abidin); whoever recites five hundred verses will be counted among the guardians (al-hafizin); whoever recites six hundred verses will be counted among the humbly submissive (al-khashi'in); whoever recites eight hundred verses will be counted among the humble (al-mukhbitin); whoever recites one thousand verses will attain a qintar, and a qintar is one thousand two hundred (i.e. twelve hundred) uqiyyah, and it is better than everything between the heaven and the earth (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) better than everything upon which the sun rises; and whoever recites two thousand verses will be among those for whom (Paradise) is made due (al-mujibin)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Yahya bin Uqbah bin Abi al-Ayzar, and this narrator is da'if (weak).
