Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3314

Ata' said: Once Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) came to some people who were talking among themselves after the Fajr prayer (or after true dawn had broken). Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade them from talking and said: "You have come to pray; so either pray or remain silent!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator Ata' did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
