Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3270

Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the sun and the moon are not eclipsed because of the death of any one of you; rather, they are two signs among the signs of Allah Almighty, by which Allah Almighty calls His servants to attention, so that He may make evident who fears Him and remembers Him. When you see this happen, turn to the remembrance of Allah and remember Him!"
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, and he is da'if (weak).
