Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3212

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Eid al-Fitr, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to eat seven dates before going (to the prayer), but on the day of Eid al-Adha he did not eat anything (before the prayer).
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Abu Abdullah Nasih bin Abdullah al-Ha'ik, who is matruk (abandoned).
