Book of Faith
بَابٌ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ الْحُبُّ لِلَّهِ وَالْبُغْضُ لِلَّهِ .
Love for the sake of Allah and hatred for the sake of Allah are part of faith

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِلَّهِ - وَقَالَ هَاشِمٌ - : مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَجِدَ طَعْمَ الْإِيمَانِ فَلْيُحِبَّ الْمَرْءَ لَا يُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever loves for the sake of Allah Almighty. (Here the narrator Hashim reported these words:) Whoever would be pleased to taste the flavour of faith should love a person whom he loves only for the sake of Allah Almighty."
