Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 302

عَنْ أَنَسٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حُبُّ قُرَيْشٍ إِيمَانٌ ، وَبُغْضُهُمْ كُفْرٌ ، وَحُبُّ الْعَرَبِ إِيمَانٌ ، فَمَنْ أَحَبَّ الْعَرَبَ فَقَدْ أَحَبَّنِي ، وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَ الْعَرَبَ فَقَدْ أَبْغَضَنِي " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمَّازٍ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ وَالْبَزَّارُ .
قُلْتُ : وَتَأْتِي أَحَادِيثُ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ فِي الْمَنَاقِبِ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمَّازٍ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ وَالْبَزَّارُ .
قُلْتُ : وَتَأْتِي أَحَادِيثُ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ فِي الْمَنَاقِبِ .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Loving Quraysh is faith and hating them is disbelief; loving the Arabs is faith. Whoever loves the Arabs loves me, and whoever hates the Arabs hates me."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, al-Haytham bin Jammaz, whom Imam Ahmad, Imam Yahya bin Ma'in and Imam al-Bazzar declared da'if (weak).
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Other narrations on this topic will come in the chapter on virtues (manaqib).
