بَابُ صَلَاةِ الْمَرِيضِ وَصَلَاةِ الْجَالِسِ .

Majma al-Zawaid 2896 — The prayer of the sick and the prayer of one
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ فَلْيَسْجُدْ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَلَا يَرْفَعْ إِلَى جَبْهَتِهِ شَيْئًا يَسْجُدُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَكِنْ رُكُوعُهُ وَسُجُودُهُ يُومِئُ إِيمَاءً " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ لَيْسَ فِيهِمْ كَلَامٌ يَضُرُّ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever among you is able to prostrate should prostrate; and whoever is not able to, should not raise anything up to his forehead in order to prostrate on it. Rather, he should perform his bowing and prostration by gesturing."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy; no harmful criticism has been made of them, and Allah knows best.
