Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says: "I accept only the prayer of the one who, through the prayer, shows humility before My greatness, who does not exalt himself over My creation, who does not persist in disobeying Me, who spends his day in remembrance of Me, who shows mercy to the poor, the wayfarer and the widow, and who shows mercy to the afflicted. That is the prayer whose light will be like the light of the sun. By My might, I will safeguard it, and My angels will protect it. I will make light for that person in darkness and forbearance in ignorance. The likeness of that person among My creation is like that of al-Firdaws in Paradise."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Abdullah bin Waqid al-Harrani, whom Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him), Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and Ibrahim al-Juzajani declared da'if (weak); according to one report Yahya bin Ma'in also declared him da'if. Imam Ahmad declared him thiqah (trustworthy) and says: He used to strive for truthfulness. He objected to whoever criticised him and praised him. The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
