وَعَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ ( أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ صَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ فَقَرَأَ فِيهَا ( اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ ) فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَفْرُغَ فَصَلَّى وَذَهَبَ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاذٌ قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا ، فَأَتَى الرَّجُلُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَاعْتَذَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ : إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَعْمَلَ فِي نَخْلٍ وَخِفْتُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " صَلِّ بِـ ( وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا ) وَنَحْوِهَا مِنَ السُّوَرِ " ) .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh led his companions in the Isha prayer and recited Surah al-Qamar in it. Before he had finished, a man got up, prayed on his own and left. Sayyiduna Mu'adh spoke harsh words about him. The man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and presented his excuse before him. He submitted, "I had to work in a date-palm orchard, and I was worried about the water." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (to Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him)): "Recite Surah al-Shams (By the sun and its brightness) and surahs like it."
