Ibn Sirin relates: In the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite Surah al-Fatihah and a surah, while in the last two rak'ahs he recited only Surah al-Fatihah.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that Ibn Sirin did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
