Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2679

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates: The sunnah way of recitation in the prayer is that Surah al-Fatihah and a surah are recited in the first two rak'ahs, and only Surah al-Fatihah in the last two rak'ahs.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains al-Tabarani's teacher and his teacher's teacher, and I have not found anyone who mentions either of them.
