Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The angels said: 'O our Lord! You have given the children of Adam the world; in it they eat, drink and wear clothes, while we glorify You with Your praise; we neither eat nor are we heedless. So just as You have made the world for them, appoint the Hereafter for us!' The Lord said: 'I will not make the righteous offspring of the one (i.e. Sayyiduna Adam, peace be upon him) whom I created with My own Hand like those (angels) to whom I said "Be!" and they came into being.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Khalid al-Missisi, who is a liar (kadhdhab) and matruk (abandoned), and the chain of al-Mu'jam al-Awsat contains a narrator, Talhah bin Zayd, who is also a liar.
