Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2577

Kathir bin Abdullah bin Amr bin Awf al-Muzani reports from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The fingers suffice in place of the miswak when there is no miswak."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The narrator Kathir is da'if (weak), though al-Tirmidhi declared a hadith narrated by him hasan (good).
