Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2576

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The best miswak is from the olive, which is from a blessed tree. It cleans the mouth and removes cavities, and it is my miswak and the miswak of the Prophets before me."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Mu'allil bin Muhammad, and I have not found anyone who mentions him.
