وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْلَا أَنْ تَكُونَ سُنَّةً لَأَمَرْتُ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَفِيهِ : أَرْطَاةُ ، أَبُو حَاتِمٍ وَلَمْ أَجِدْ مَنْ ذَكَرَهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَفِيهِ : أَرْطَاةُ ، أَبُو حَاتِمٍ وَلَمْ أَجِدْ مَنْ ذَكَرَهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Were it not for the concern that it would become a sunnah, I would have commanded the use of the miswak at the time of every prayer."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Artah Abu Hatim, and I have not found anyone who mentions him. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
