Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 252

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Before Allah Almighty are seventy thousand veils of light and darkness; any soul that hears even the faintest sound of one of those veils, its life will depart."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, likewise from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him); its chain contains a narrator, Musa bin Ubaydah, who is not taken as evidence.
