بَابُ مَنْ أَمَّ النَّاسَ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ .

Majma al-Zawaid 2384 — Whoever leads people in prayer should keep
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُ صَوْتَ الصَّبِيِّ وَأَنَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَأُخَفِّفُ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ تُفْتَنَ أُمُّهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sometimes I hear the voice of a child while I am leading the prayer, and I shorten the prayer, fearing that his mother may be put to trial."
