Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "While I was sitting, Jibril came and struck me between my shoulders. I got up and went to a tree in which there were two things like birds' nests. He sat in one of them and I sat in the other. It set off and began to rise until it covered the distance between the earth and the sky. I could blink my eyes, and had I wished to touch the sky, I could have touched it. Jibril turned towards me, and his state was like that of an old cloth spread on the ground, so I realized that he had superiority over me in knowledge of Allah Almighty. Then one of the gates of heaven was opened, and I saw the greatest light, and there, before the veil, was a throne made of pearls and rubies. Then Allah Almighty revealed to me what He willed."
Imam al-Bazzar and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
