Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2355

Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Prophet, while leading us in prayer, left out part of a surah (i.e. a verse) of the Qur'an. When he finished the prayer, Sayyiduna Ubayy said: "O Messenger of Allah, has such-and-such a verse been abrogated?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." Then he said: "Why did you not prompt me with it?"
These are the words of al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Sulayman bin Arqam, who is da'if (weak).
