وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ فَتَرَكَ آيَةً، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى قَالَ : " أَفِي الْقَوْمِ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ ؟ " قَالَ أُبَيٌّ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نُسِخَتْ آيَةُ كَذَا وَكَذَا أَوْ أُنْسِيتَهَا قَالَ : نَسِيتُهَا .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Abza (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while performing the Fajr prayer, left out a verse. When he completed the prayer, he asked: "Is Ubayy bin Ka'b among the people?" Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "O Messenger of Allah, has such-and-such a verse been abrogated, or were you made to forget it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I forgot it."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, both of them from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Abza, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
