Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hanzalah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were in the house of Sayyiduna Qays bin Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him), and some of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were with us. We said to him: Go forward (and lead the prayer). He said: I will not go forward. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hanzalah said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man has more right to the front (central) place on his own bedding, more right to the front of his own mount, and more right to lead the prayer in his own house." So he instructed one of his freed slaves, who went forward and led the prayer.
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it; its chain contains Ishaq bin Yahya bin Talhah, whom Ahmad, Ibn Ma'in and al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) declared da'if (weak), while Ya'qub bin Shaybah called him thiqah (trustworthy), and Ibn Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
