وَعَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ : أَقَمْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - نِصْفَ شَهْرٍ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّي وَعَلَيْهِ نَعْلَانِ مُتَقَابِلَتَانِ وَرَأَيْتُهُ يَبْزُقُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ .
قُلْتُ : رَوَى ابْنُ مَاجَهْ مِنْهُ الصَّلَاةَ فِي النَّعْلَيْنِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
قُلْتُ : رَوَى ابْنُ مَاجَهْ مِنْهُ الصَّلَاةَ فِي النَّعْلَيْنِ .

Sayyiduna Aws bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I stayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for fifteen days. I saw him offering prayer while wearing sandals, and I saw that he would spit to the right side and also spit to the left side. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: Imam Ibn Majah recorded from this narration only the part about offering prayer while wearing sandals.
