وَعَنْ جَرْهَدٍ وَنَفَرٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ سِوَاهُ ذَوِي رِضًى أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ عَلَى جَرْهَدٍ وَفَخِذُ جَرْهَدٍ مَكْشُوفَةٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا جَرْهَدُ غَطِّ فَخِذَكَ فَإِنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ " .
قُلْتُ : حَدِيثُ جَرْهَدٍ رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
قُلْتُ : حَدِيثُ جَرْهَدٍ رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) and, besides him, some people of the tribe of Aslam who were approved persons narrate: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) had his thigh uncovered in the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: O Jarhad! Cover your thigh, for the thigh is part of what must be covered ('awrah). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith of Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) has also been recorded by Imam Abu Dawud and Imam al-Tirmidhi.
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Zinad, who is da'if (weak).
