Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led his Companions in the Zuhr prayer. The narrator states: Then a man from among his Companions came in (to the mosque). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "O so-and-so! Why were you not able to join the prayer?" The man mentioned some matter by which he explained his excuse. The narrator says: The man stood up and began to pray, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will someone give charity to this man by praying with him?" So a man stood up and prayed with him.
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and Imam Abu Dawud and Imam al-Tirmidhi recorded part of it; the narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
