Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2156

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever performs ablution and comes to the mosque, then offers two rak'ahs before Fajr, then sits until he offers the Fajr prayer, his prayer on that day is recorded among the prayers of the righteous, and he is counted among the delegation (that is, the guests) of the Most Merciful."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, al-Qasim Abu Abd al-Rahman, about whose use as evidence there is disagreement.
