Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2114

It is also reported about him that he used to swear, and swear emphatically, that there is no place of prayer for a woman better than her house, except that Hajj and Umrah are a different matter; and the woman who has despaired of marriage and who walks in her "manqal" is also a different matter. The narrator says: I asked: What is meant by her walking in her manqal? The teacher replied: An old woman who takes short steps.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
