وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَحْمِلُونَ اللَّبِنَ إِلَى بِنَاءِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَعَهُمْ قَالَ : فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ عَارِضٌ لَبِنَةً عَلَى بَطْنِهِ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهَا شَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ : نَاوِلْنِيهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ : " خُذْ غَيْرَهَا يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيْشُ الْآخِرَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The people were carrying bricks for the construction of the mosque, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was with them. The narrator says: I came face to face with the Messenger of Allah, and he was holding a brick against his stomach. I thought that perhaps it was burdensome for him, so I said: "Hand it to me, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Hurayrah, take another (brick), for there is no life except the life of the Hereafter."
