وَعَنْ أَبِي قِرْصَافَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " ابْنُوا الْمَسَاجِدَ وَأَخْرِجُوا الْقُمَامَةَ مِنْهَا ، فَمَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَهَذِهِ الْمَسَاجِدُ الَّتِي تُبْنَى فِي الطَّرِيقِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، وَإِخْرَاجُ الْقُمَامَةِ مِنْهَا مُهُورُ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ مَجَاهِيلُ .

Sayyiduna Abu Qirsafah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Build mosques and remove the rubbish from them. Whoever builds a mosque for Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will build for him a house in Paradise." A man submitted: "O Messenger of Allah, these mosques that are built along the road (do they have the same ruling too)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, and removing rubbish from the mosque is the dowry of the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise (al-hur al-in)."
