وَعَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْبُلْدَانِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ ؟ وَأَيُّ الْبُلْدَانِ أَبْغَضُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا أَدْرِي ، حَتَّى أَسْأَلَ جِبْرِيلَ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ، فَأَتَاهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ جِبْرِيلُ : أَنَّ أَحَبَّ الْبِقَاعِ إِلَى اللَّهِ الْمَسَاجِدُ ، وَأَبْغَضَ الْبِقَاعِ إِلَى اللَّهِ الْأَسْوَاقُ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ وَهُوَ مُخْتَلَفٌ فِي الِاحْتِجَاجِ بِهِ ، وَلَهُ طَرِيقٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ ذِكْرِ الْمَسَاجِدِ عِنْدَ أَحْمَدَ وَأَبِي يَعْلَى تَأْتِي فِي الْبَيْعِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ وَهُوَ مُخْتَلَفٌ فِي الِاحْتِجَاجِ بِهِ ، وَلَهُ طَرِيقٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ ذِكْرِ الْمَسَاجِدِ عِنْدَ أَحْمَدَ وَأَبِي يَعْلَى تَأْتِي فِي الْبَيْعِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man submitted: "O Messenger of Allah, which of the lands is most beloved to Allah Almighty, and which of the lands (that is, which part of the earth) is most hated by Allah Almighty?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not know; I will ask Jibril about it." When Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him, Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) informed him: "The best part in the sight of Allah Almighty is the mosques, and the most hated part in the sight of Allah Almighty is the markets."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil, about whom there is disagreement as to whether he can be used as evidence. Imam Ahmad has it from Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) through another chain without mention of the mosques, and Imam Abu Ya'la also recorded it; that narration will come later in the chapter on buying and selling, if Allah wills.
