Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1889

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) states: During journeys the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not have the adhan given, except in the morning prayer, when he had the adhan given; he would have the iqamah said.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Ya'qub bin Humayd, whom Yahya bin Ma'in and others declared da'if (weak). Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) says: We know nothing but good about him. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in his book al-Thiqat and stated: He makes mistakes.
