وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - يَبْعَثُ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي : يَا آدَمُ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَبْعَثَ بَعْثًا مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ إِلَى النَّارِ ، فَيَقُولُ آدَمُ : يَا رَبِّ ، وَمِنْ كَمْ ؟ " قَالَ : " فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ " . فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : مَنْ هَذَا النَّاجِي مِنَّا بَعْدَ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " هَلْ تَدْرُونَ ؟ مَا أَنْتُمْ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّامَةِ فِي صَدْرِ الْبَعِيرِ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْهَجَرِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty will send a caller who will announce: 'O Adam, Allah Almighty commands you to send a particular group of your offspring to Hell.' Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) will ask: 'O my Lord, how many?' It will be said to him: 'Ninety-nine out of every hundred.'" The narrator states: A man among those present said: "O Messenger of Allah, after this, who among us will be saved?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know? Your example compared with other people is like a mole on the chest of a camel."
