Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) transmits this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I will be your forerunner at the Pond, and I will take pride in your great numbers over the other nations. So do not become disbelievers after me, striking one another's necks." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, how large will it (the Pond) be?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As much as the distance between Aylah and Makkah (here the narrator is unsure about the word). Its vessels will be more numerous than the stars. A believer will pick up one of them, and before he puts it down, another will pick it up."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ubaydah bin al-Aswad, whom more than one person declared da'if (weak). Ibn Hibban stated in Kitab al-Thiqat: "His hadith is to be considered when he makes clear that he heard it from a trustworthy narrator and the narrator below him is also trustworthy." The rest of the narrators of this narration have been declared trustworthy, although there is weakness in some of them.
