Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "What is the matter with people who say that the kinship of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) will not benefit his people? Yes indeed, by Allah, the tie of kinship with me will remain joined in this world and the Hereafter. O people, indeed I will be your forerunner at the Pond. When you come, one man will say: 'O Messenger of Allah, I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so,' and another will say: 'I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so.' Then I will say: 'As for lineage, I have recognised it, but you introduced new things after me and turned back on your heels.'"
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil, and he has been declared trustworthy.
