Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will be gathered (that is, when people are assembled on the plain of the Gathering), and a caller will say: 'Is it not justice on My part that I hand over every people to the one they used to worship?' Then their deities will be brought before them, and those people will follow those deities, until no one remains except this Ummah. It will be said to them: 'What is the matter with you?' They will reply: 'We have not seen our Deity whom we used to worship.' Then Allah Almighty will manifest Himself to them." It was said to Abu Burdah: "By Allah, did you hear Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) mention this hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied: "By Allah, besides whom there is no other deity." He said these words three times.
Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Furat bin al-Sa'ib, who is da'if (weak).
