عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " يُنْصَبُ لِلْكَافِرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِقْدَارَ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ كَمَا لَمْ يَعْمَلْ فِي الدُّنْيَا ، وَإِنَّ الْكَافِرَ لَيَرَى جَهَنَّمَ ، وَيَظُنُّ أَنَّهَا مُوَاقِعَتُهُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ عَلَى مَا فِيهِ مِنْ ضَعْفٍ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection a span of fifty thousand years will be set for the disbeliever, as though he had done no deed at all in the world; and the disbeliever will see Hell from a distance of forty years' travel and will think that he is about to fall into it."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good), although there is weakness among its narrators.
