وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " تَدْنُو الشَّمْسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى قَدْرِ مِيلٍ ، وَيَزْدَادُ فِي حَرِّهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا يَغْلِي مِنْهَا الْهَوَامُّ كَمَا تَغْلِي الْقُدُورُ ، يَعْرَقُونَ فِيهَا عَلَى قَدْرِ خَطَايَاهُمْ ، فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ تَبْلُغُ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى سَاقَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى وَسَطِهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُلْجِمُهُمُ الْعَرَقُ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection the sun will come as near as the distance of a mile, and its heat will increase by such and such, until the insects will boil because of it just as cooking pots boil. People in that situation will be drenched in sweat in such a way that the sweat will be according to their sins: it will reach the ankles of some of them, the shins of some, the waist of some, and some will be bridled by the sweat."
