Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18282

Ali bin al-Aqmar narrates from his father: I saw Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) holding up his sword in the open square of Kufah and saying: Who will buy this sword of mine from me? By Allah! I have defended the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with it many times, and if I had the money to buy a waist-wrapper, I would not have sold it.
Al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Sulayman bin al-Hakam, and he is da'if (weak).
