Ulayy bin Rabah narrates: I was with Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) in Alexandria, and the people began to talk about the kind of circumstances they were living in. One of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, and his household never ate their fill of ghalith bread (that is, bread made of wheat and barley mixed together)." Musa bin Ulayy says: This means barley and sult (this too is a kind of barley which has no husk and resembles wheat) mixed together (to bake bread).
Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
