Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18234

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: By the One who sent Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with the truth! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never saw a sieve, nor did he ever eat bread of sifted flour, from the time Allah Almighty sent him until his passing (this never happened). The narrator says: I asked: "How did you eat barley?" She replied: "We used to say: 'Uff, uff' (that is, we would blow on it)."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Sulayman bin Ruman, whom I do not know. The remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy.
