Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a gathering in which people were laughing. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Remember often death, the destroyer of pleasures!" The narrator says: I think the report also contains these words: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever remembers it in a state of hardship, it will bring him ease, and whoever remembers it in a state of ease, it will bring him constraint."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it from this Companion in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat in abridged form; the chains of both are hasan (good).
