Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18176

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever speaks a great deal, his slips are many; whoever's slips are many, his sins are many; and whoever's sins are many, Hell is more deserving of him. Whoever believes in Allah Almighty and the Last Day should speak good or else remain silent."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain contains weak narrators who have been declared trustworthy.
