It is reported from him that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of two things such that whoever does them will enter Paradise?" We said: "Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That a man guards that which is between his two jaws (that is, the tongue) and that which is between his two legs (that is, the private parts)." The narrator says: My companion and I went back, and we thought: "By Allah! This is very hard. How can a person manage to guard what is between his two jaws and speak only of good?" The narrator says: We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! You have mentioned two matters that are very hard. O Messenger of Allah! Who is able to keep control over his tongue?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are six deeds; whoever does them will enter Paradise." We asked: "What are they?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who does not associate anyone as a partner with Allah, does not commit fornication, and does not bring a false accusation." Then he recited the verse in full. (The narrator says:) This command was even harder than the first.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
