Tamim bin Yazid, the freed slave of Banu Zam'ah, reports this account from a Companion: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us in a sermon and said: "O people! There are two things; whoever Allah Almighty protects from the evil of both of them will enter Paradise." A man from the Ansar stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Will you not tell us about them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: "There are two things; whoever Allah Almighty protects from the evil of both of them will enter Paradise." The narrator says: When the same exchange took place the third time, the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) stopped that man and said: "You can see that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wants to give us glad tidings, and you are stopping him?" That man said: "I fear that people may come to rely on it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are two things; whoever Allah Almighty protects from the evil of both of them will go to Paradise: that which is between his two jaws (that is, the tongue) and that which is between his two legs (that is, the private parts)."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Tamim, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
