عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ مَطْعَمَ ابْنِ آدَمَ جُعِلَ مَثَلًا لِلدُّنْيَا وَإِنْ قَزَّحَهُ وَمَلَّحَهُ ، فَانْظُرْ إِلَى مَا يَصِيرُ " . رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ عُتَيٍّ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The food of man has been made a parable for the world; however much a person makes it fine and tasty, look at what it finally becomes."
Abdullah and al-Tabarani recorded it, and the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih, except Utayy, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
