بَابُ إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَبْدًا حَمَاهُ الدُّنْيَا .
When Allah the Exalted loves a servant He protects him from this world

وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَصَدَّقَنِي ، وَيَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مَا جِئْتُ بِهِ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ ، فَأَقْلِلْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ ، وَعَجِّلْ قَبْضَهُ . اللَّهُمَّ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِي وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْنِي ، وَيَعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَا جِئْتُ بِهِ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ ; فَأَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ ، وَوَلَدَهُ ، وَأَطِلْ عُمْرَهُ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَمْرُو بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, whoever believes in me and affirms me, and knows that what I have brought is the truth from You, make his wealth and children few and hasten his death. O Allah, and whoever does not believe in me and does not affirm me, and does not know that what I have brought is the truth from You, make his wealth and children many and lengthen his life." Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Waqid, who is matruk (abandoned).
