بَابٌ فِيمَنْ نَامَ عَنْ صَلَاةٍ أَوْ نَسِيَهَا .

وَعَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي سَفَرِهِ الَّذِي نَامُوا فِيهِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَرَدَّ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكُمْ أَرْوَاحَكُمْ ، فَمَنْ نَامَ عَنْ صَلَاةٍ فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ ، وَمَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّ إِذَا ذَكَرَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey; during it all the people fell asleep until the sun rose. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You were in the state of the dead, and Allah Almighty has returned your souls to you. Whoever sleeps through the time of a prayer should offer it when he wakes up, and whoever forgets to offer a prayer should offer it when he remembers it."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani in al-Kabir recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
