وَعَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " يَا سُرَاقَةُ ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَأَهْلِ النَّارِ ؟ " . قُلْتُ : بَلَى . يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " أَمَّا أَهْلُ النَّارِ فَكُلُّ جَعْظَرِيٍّ ، جَوَّاظٍ ، مُسْتَكْبِرٍ ، وَأَمَّا أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فَالضُّعَفَاءُ ، الْمَغْلُوبُونَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .
Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik bin Ju'shum (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Suraqah! Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise and the people of Hell?" I said: Yes! O Messenger of Allah! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As for the people of Hell, every self-conceited, ill-mannered, arrogant person (will be among the people of Hell). As for the people of Paradise, it is the weak and the overpowered (who will be among the people of Paradise)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good).
