Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was among the People of the Suffah. I remember that none of us had a complete garment on his body, and the sweat had made streaks on our skin through the dust and dirt. One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us and said: "Glad tidings to the poor Muhajirun." The narrator says: Meanwhile a man came who appeared well-off from his outward appearance. Whatever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, that man would try to make his own words stand out above the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When that man went away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty dislikes this man and those like him, who, while talking with people, twist their tongues just as a cow twists its tongue in the pasture; and in Hell, Allah Almighty will twist their tongues and their faces."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it with various chains, and the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih.
