Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know who of Allah's creation will be the first to enter Paradise? The people said: Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) know best. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first of Allah's creation to enter Paradise will be the poor Muhajirun, through whom breaches are sealed and through whom hardships are warded off; when one of them dies, his need remains in his chest, for he has no means to fulfil it. Allah Almighty will say to whomever He wills of His angels: Go to them and greet them with salam. The angels will say: We are the dwellers of Your heaven and the best of Your creation; do You command us to go to them and greet them with salam? The Lord will say: These are servants of Mine who used to worship Me and did not associate anyone with Me; through them breaches were sealed and hardships warded off; when one of them died, his need remained in his chest, for he had no means to fulfil it." the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: Then the angels will come to them at that time, entering upon them from every gate, and will say: "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured; and excellent is the final home." (Al-Haythami says:) I say: From this Companion there is another narration in the "Sahih", other than this one.
Ahmad, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it, and after the words "We are the dwellers of Your heaven" they added: "and You admit them to Paradise before us!" Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
