Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: One day I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the sun rose. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection some people will come whose light will be like the light of the sun." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah, will that be us? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No! There is much good for you, but they will be the poor Muhajirun who will be gathered from the various parts of the earth." (Al-Haythami says:) I say: Then he mentioned the rest of the hadith.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir he added these words: "Glad tidings to the strangers! Glad tidings to the strangers! It was asked: Who are the strangers? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Righteous people, few in number, among many evil people; those who disobey them are more than those who obey them."
